- Install Cametas from the source identified on the official Cametas website and apply available operating-system updates.
- Open the application and grant only the camera, microphone, screen, file, or location permissions needed for the features you plan to use.
- Select the intended source and layout, confirm the preview, choose an available quality, and check microphone input.
- Verify free storage, power, orientation, focus, lighting, and audio with a short test recording.
- Play the test file in another player before beginning an important session, live event, interview, or production.
2. Camera and microphone troubleshooting
If a camera or microphone is unavailable, close other applications that may be using it, confirm the permission in system settings, reconnect external hardware, and restart Cametas. Some devices cannot operate multiple cameras, high resolution, high frame rate, screen capture, and other intensive functions at the same time. Try one source, a lower quality setting, or a simpler layout to identify the limiting combination.
3. Teleprompter guidance
Paste or import plain, readable text; remove unsupported formatting; choose a comfortable font size; and set speed after reading a representative paragraph aloud. Longer scripts may be easier to manage when divided into sections. Keep the prompt close to the lens, but avoid covering recording controls, focus indicators, or important preview areas. Make a copy of important scripts outside the app.
4. Map and location overlays
A map or location overlay may require location permission and network access to a map provider. Indoor positioning, poor satellite visibility, a VPN, regional map availability, or disabled precise location can affect the result. A displayed position is an informational visual element and should not be relied on for navigation, emergency response, surveying, or other safety-critical decisions. Review recordings before publishing sensitive locations.
5. Screen and desktop sources
Screen capture can require a separate operating-system permission. On macOS or Windows, approve the requested screen or audio source, then fully restart the application if the system instructs you to. Protected video, rights-managed content, secure windows, or some hardware overlays may appear blank. Respect confidentiality and intellectual-property rules when capturing another application or meeting.
6. Export, storage, and recovery
Keep enough free storage for the expected duration and quality. Do not force-close the app or disconnect a destination while a file is being finalised. If an export fails, preserve the original project or source, free space, choose a local destination, simplify the output, and try again. Maintain independent backups: support cannot recover a file that existed only on a device and was deleted, overwritten, or lost.
7. Purchases and subscription access
Confirm that the device is signed in to the same app-store or payment account used for purchase. Use the platform’s restore-purchase function where available, allow time for store synchronisation, and restart the app. Billing, cancellation, invoice, and refund controls are usually managed by the merchant shown on the receipt. Deleting Cametas does not by itself cancel a recurring plan.
8. Sending a useful support request
Include enough context to reproduce the issue
- device model, operating-system version, and Cametas version;
- feature, source, layout, and quality settings in use;
- the exact sequence of actions and the result you expected;
- the wording of any error and whether the issue can be repeated;
- a screenshot or short non-sensitive sample only if it is safe to share; and
- a transaction reference, never a password or full payment-card number, for purchase issues.
Requests are reviewed in a reasonable order based on impact, available information, and operational capacity. No fixed response or resolution time is promised. Please send one clear thread per issue and follow up in the same thread if new information becomes available.
9. Safety, privacy, and responsible use
Obtain permission before recording people or private spaces, avoid handling a device while driving, and do not use Cametas where recording or radio equipment is prohibited. Review the Privacy Policy before sharing diagnostic material. For account security, support will not ask for passwords, one-time codes, recovery keys, or complete card details by email.
